Criptic, giddy in finding a new land, high-stepped throughout the patches of grass and shrubs. She was feeling very light-hearted for a darq at the moment. But one thing was luring her back into her usual behavior-- lonliness. She nickered loudly, and listened as her cries echoed back to her, only hers, then reared and pawed the sky. She would wait here until another horse came, and would only leave when that time came-- whenever it might be.

Black jet wonderd across a feild.. He needed a mare so he could start a herd. Just whern he was turning to leave he saw a horse. Walking over it he saw it was a mare. He stood there not knowing what to do. He was right infront of the mare now, they were standing face to face. He bent down and pickied up some grass threw his head into the air and waited for her to respond.....

Criptic, surprised by the stallion's sudden appearance, jumped and kicked out. Then she calmed slightly as she saw it was just a stallion. She sneered, wondering what he could possibly want from her. Of course, she thought. He was a stallion and she a mare. His intentions were obvious. Criptic settled herself and pawed the ground. Excuse me, stag, but you have interrupted my grazing. What might be the reason? she questioned, irritated. Then she bared her teeth, revealing a menacing grin. He'd have to work hard to get her.

Black jet leaped back a foot at her sudden kick but quickly settled back down and continued to look at her. after a moment he heard her question. This was going to be harder then he thought...."I was just wondering about and I saw you," He started some what lamely. "And I don't like being all alone...." Of caorse this was only part of the reason, but it wasn't a lie. He didn't usually lie, just tell half the truth.....

Criptic stood completely still, staring at the stag. Lonely? Criptic laughed to herself. She then turned and put her delicate muzzle down and started to graze, ignoring the stallion. She walked forward a few steps, grazing with all of her attention on the sweet grass.

Black Jet's legs left the ground. He didn't appretiate being laughed at. "What's so funny," he asked. He ws rather mad now. He really didn't like being laughed at. Hw still wanted to get her attention back but he started to graze along side her....

Criptic laughed again, just to get at him. Ha, I am laughing at you, oblivious stag! Criptic exclaimed, pulling up her head high. She swatted at the huge horseflies that were attempting to bury into her flesh. Stags starving for attention from mares really got on her nerves. They could be tamed easily, and were interestingly enough sane to be bossed by her. It had happened before, and it could happen again.

Black Jet reared slightly. But soon he touched back down. Tossing his head he aksed, What is a mare like you doing alone? It was all he could thik of. He felt pathetic, and angry. If it wasn't for his desperate desire to have a herd he would leave right now.....

Criptic pawed the ground, threatening the stallion. I'll let you take a stab at that one, she hissed. She could sense his tension and nervousness. Criptic flicked her tail, irritated. Glancing at this stud brought recollections back from the stable where she was born-- on the outside, the appearance was rancid and harsh. But on the inside, it really wasn't worth the trouble. Now, the only way to get out was to stand ground and wait for the worst to pass-- or fight until you were set free. The last being prefered by Criptic.

Black Jet reared slightly as she pawed at the ground but quickly tuched back down. May I question as to what your name is?The stallion asked wondering. He had a feeling this was a lost cause. This mare was never going to come with him. Not in a million years. BUt it was still worth a try. He thought..... He was fighting a long lost battle....

Criptic snorted. I am but Criptic she snarled, hoping he would notice the fact that she didn't ask for his name. She returned to grazing and stomping at the flies that threatened her. Criptic was bored, and standing here, having a 'conversation' with this stag was low on the list of things she needed to do. She stepped farther and farther away from him, pretending to be occupied with the grass she was munching on.

Why be alone? There are many dangers that lerk here in the shadows Black Jet said stomping his hoof. He was mad now, but he was calming down. Atleast she wasn't laughing anymore......

I'll stay alone for as long as I need to, she hissed, not even picking up her head to look at him. She was obviously not worried about anything that could harm her; nothing that she'd ever come into contact with hadn't been defeated. Nothing. She continued grazing. She was bored, and decided to wander over to the pond where she thrust herself into the water, sucking it up, then laying down, letting the droplets soak into her skin. She was getting cooled off, and it was getting to about noon-- the hottest time of the day. She didn't mind the heat or the sun, in fact, she loved it, but just as long as there was water nearby. Minutes passed as she lay there, enjoy her new-found bliss. She could get along by herself perfectly.

Wouldn't it be nice to be part of a herd? Black Jet asked. He had no sympathy for lone horses that didn't wish to join a herd. He had been alone for almost as long as he could remember. It had been so for so long, he had never had a herd....

Criptic raised her body, water dripping, and shook. She exhaled heavily with the force of pulling herself up, then worked her way out of the water. If I'm happy, then sure. But only then, Criptic answered. She wasn't going to be miserable for company. But if she found it satisfactory, a herd could be a very important thing to her. Criptic shook again, droplets spreading in the air then landing, scattered, throughout the area. She stomped, even though the flies had left her for the fear of water, and blew air out of her nose.
